PRAIRIE BUSY BADGERS 4-H CLUB

Meeting Location:

Honey Creek Town Hall in Denzer, Wisconsin

Meeting Time:

7:00 pm on the first Monday of every month except September.

Club Size:

In 2006, the Prairie Busy Badgers 4-H Club had 48 members.

Community Service Activities:

  • Our primary community service project is volunteering at the Sauk Prairie Food Pantry every fourth Wednesday of the month. Club members take turns volunteering their service.

Recreational Activities:

  • A winter activity, which for the past few years has been going to an indoor waterpark in Wisconsin Dells.
  • A summer activity which in the past years has been a fun filled day at Devil's Lake, a waterpark in Wisconsin Dells, Crystal Lake Day Camp and attending a Mallard baseball game in Madison.
  • We create and build a float for the Witwen Fourth of July parade
  • A Christmas party in December.
  • For the past 5 years our club has participated in the county music festival with a group mini musical. We have performed "Annie", "Grease", "Wizard of Oz", "Arabian Nights" and this year we danced and sang to songs from "Mary Poppins".

Fundraising Activities:

  • Our major fundraiser is selling cream puffs at the Cow Chip Days in Sauk Prairie in September.

Prairie Busy Badger Member Requirements:

  1. Attendance at monthly meetings. At least one parent/guardian/adult is expected to attend also.
  2. Present one project talk or demonstration
  3. Completion of a record book at the end of the 4-H year.
  4. Actively participate on the committee you have been assigned.
  5. Bring refreshments and snacks and plan the program for the monthly meeting you have been assigned.
  6. Work in the 4-H food stand at the county fair and/or help sell cream puffs at the Cow Chip weekend in September.
  7. Volunteer to work the Food Pantry in Sauk Prairie.
