In the fall of 2006, Lake District members met to identify issues that lake residents are faced with.  It became apparent that the same issues are present at each of the different lakes and that it might be of some benefit to create a countywide lake organization to share ideas and strategies that have been employed.  The original group has been expanded to include not only the lakes that have property owner associations or lake districts, but all county lakes and rivers.
